Chada Katavi...Can't wait to get there!

Arusha is a lovely city, especially if you work for Nomad, with offices some 20 kilometres outside the city, at the base of Mt. Meru.

But we, like you, are somehow drawn to the even more remote bush locations.  We were looking through some of our 2010 photos from Katavi, and we thought now might be a good time to give everyone a little reminder of what we'll be going back to next month.

Moments before the sun slipped out of the sky, this was our view of the Paradise Plains as we sipped and sat and listened to the night fall.

Aptly named after the star of the movie Scarface, this is Pacino, a Chada Pride male.  We look forward to seeing how he has fared, and if he has any new cubs to show us.

What can anyone say about this lovely creature, really?  Katavi is full of little secrets, including over 400 species of birds.  Normally a seed-eating
species, this one actually has an ant in its bill.

Not to be outdone by any spectacular sunsets, dawn breaks over Katavi with equally awe-inspiring views.
